The City of Waco is threatening to build a sewage plant just upstream from Cameron Park and downtown Waco at the corner of Buster Chatham Rd and River Bend Rd in Waco.  This proposed plant is a direct on-site dump into Lake Brazos.  There are no other sewage plants in between Lake Whitney and downtown Waco that dump directly into the Brazos because all previous City administrations were able to grow our City without jeopardizing our downtown Brazos riverfront.

Our main plant was built about 100 years ago- and guess where- yes, downstream from our City parks, Baylor and downtown center.  For over a 100 years, this part of the River has been sacred to our City's leaders.

We have to make the City administration realize that one failure just like the many we have seen in the recent past- is one too many when it goes directly into our downtown.  There are alternatives used in many other cities.  We don't have to be the first generation to say- it's ok to foul our parks and downtown.  These plants do fail and we have to protect our community parks and riverfront.

We have to stop this - if we wait, then they spend more money on it with studies, and then they are more committed to doing it.  The time is now.
